The sign says NO SMOKING — And that is a way of life in my home!

21 years ago, I quit smoking! And I have never regretted it! Making that choice was the best thing I ever did! No Regrets!

You see; when my daughter was a teen, she began to have seizures!

And the eventual diagnosis was that my daughter had a brain tumor and was having complex partial seizures!

In the long run, surgery was curative. The surgery took place in November after 9/11.

Almost 5 years had passed from diagnosis to being seizure-free — Watching was the most difficult thing I had to watch, and I say watch because — That’s all you can do. Watching your child have seizures is difficult. First you can’t stop them, or exercise any control. All you can do is give the individual space and let things happen. Safeguard them if they fall.

I don’t know what to do if I had to go through that again!

Health-wise for me, “the before surgery” and “the after surgery” were two different things!

Before surgery —

  • difficulty breathing
  • coughing bouts
  • leaking
  • orange fingers
  • smell of smoke
  • dull paint on the walls
